Krishnanattom

Krishnanattom shares a lot of similarities to Kathakali . But it also incorporated several outside elements, which is thought to have contributed to its popularity. In particular, the increasing use of Malayalam, which is the local language made it more popular among the masses. The artists who performs Krishnanattom dance wear a mask and those who do not wear mask will have special colors painted on their face which defines their character. The visual effects are enriched by colorful facial make-ups and by masks. The masks are made of light wood and cloth. The mostly used colors are dark green, flesh tint and deep rose. The characters of Krishna, Arjuna and Garuda wear dark blue vests.
