Thrissur
is a city situated in the centre of Kerala state, India. It is the headquarters of Thrissur District. The city has a population of around 3.2 lakhs. It is an important cultural center, and is known as the 'cultural capital of Kerala'. It is famous for the Thrissur Pooram festival, the most colourful and spectacular temple festival of Kerala. It has a large number of well-known temples, Thiruvambady temple, Vadakkumnatha temple and Paramekkavu temple, and two churches of note, the Our Lady of Lourdes Metropolitan Cathedral and the Basilica of Our Lady of Dolours (called "Puthan Pally" - meaning "New Church" - considered to be the biggest church in South Asia). The Kerala Police Academy (second largest in India) is situated in this city.

Athirapally water falls
is a first grade Grama Panchayath with 489.00 kmē area in Mukundapuram Taluk, Thrissur district in Kerala, south India. It is located 70 km Kochi city, 55 km from Cochin International Airport, 60 km from Thrissur city and 30 km from Chalakudy town.
Athirappilly Falls is a part of Chalakudy river .Athirappilly is easily reachable from Chalakudy by taking a vehicle for rent or by bus from the Chalakudy private bus terminal
Vazhachal Falls
is a rushing waterbody joining Chalakkudy River in the Thrissur district of Kerala state, south India. It is located approximately 3 km from Athirappilly. The route from Athirappilly to Vazhachal is marked by beautiful nature and a small waterfall right in the midway.
Punnathur Kotta
is located in Kottapadi, a small place near Guruvayoor in Thrissur district of Kerala, South India. This was a palace of a local ruler and now this place is famous for the elephant pound (Anakkotta in local language, literally translated as "Elephant Fort") where the elephants belonging to the Guruvayoor temple are kept. Elephants are trained here for purposes related to temples. The pound currently has about 64 elephants. All of them came here as offerings by devotees of Lord Guruvayurappa. Gajapooja (Worshipping Elephants) and Anayoottu (Feeding Elephants) are observed here, as offering to Lord Ganesha.
Sakthan Palace
Named as Vadakkekara Palace, was reconstructed in Kerala-Dutch style in 1795 by Sri.Ramavarma Thampuran of the erstwhile Princely State of Cochin, well as Sakthan Thampuran(Greatest ruler of the Cochin dynasty) is preserved by Archaeological Department.
Chavakkad Beach
A sea shore for rare scenic beauty. Acknowledged as one of the best beaches along the west coast. Unaltered by modernisation and laced on the borders by an array of coconut palms.
Vilangankunnu
This hillock has been converted by the tourism department as an amusement park. While grown ups relish the scenic splendor from the hill top. Children can relax and play to their hearts.
Kerala Sahitya Academy
was established on August 15, 1956. It aims at the development of Malayalam Language and Literature and works in co-operation with the Kendra Sahitya Academy in New Delhi. There is a good library attached to the Academy consisting of 2 sections the General Section & the Research Section.
